2,700 m² of office space in a central location extended on a long-term basis
Leading institutions in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region are to remain in their established business premises in Mannheim city centre. The lease for a total of around 2,700 m² of rental space in the M1, 4-5 commercial building in the central location of Mannheim, known as the ‘city of squares’, has been extended.
The leading institutions of the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region are located under one roof in the building, which was built in 1964, covers a total of around 3,695 m² and was revitalised in 2016/2017. In addition to the Rhine-Neckar Regional Association as the anchor tenant, these include Metropolregion Rhein-Neckar GmbH and Zukunft Metropolregion Rhein-Neckar e.V.. The owner is an American real estate investor.
Cushman & Wakefield advised the American real estate investor on the lease extension and negotiated and brokered the new lease agreement.
The Rhine-Neckar Metropolitan Region was founded in 2005 by a state treaty between the three federal states of Baden-Württemberg, Rhineland-Palatinate and Hesse. It is the only region in Germany where regional planning and development are institutionally anchored across federal state borders.
