Cushman & Wakefield (C&W) has, for the second consecutive year, been responsible for preparing the Norfin Group Sustainability Report for the 2025 financial year. This edition reflects Norfin's ongoing commitment to integrating ESG principles into its strategy and management model, as well as to transparently communicating the progress achieved and the targets set for the future.
The project builds on C&W’s support in defining and implementing the Group’s ESG and Sustainability strategy, including the identification of strategic priorities and their alignment with industry best practices. One of the key highlights of 2025 was the improvement of Norfin’s EcoVadis rating from Silver to Gold, reflecting strengthened sustainability practices, business ethics, and governance.
From an environmental perspective, Norfin implemented climate risk assessments within its investment processes, introduced ESG clauses into design and construction projects, and consolidated its sustainable certification strategy, reaching 38 completed certifications. The company also recorded significant progress in the sustainable management of its portfolio, reducing energy intensity by 51% to 10.89 kWh/m², increasing the share of renewable electricity to 45%, and diverting more than 6,700 tonnes of waste to recycling or reuse. At the same time, it monitored its greenhouse gas emissions, which totalled approximately 16.2 tonnes of CO₂e across Scopes 1, 2 and 3.
On the social front, Norfin strengthened its investment in people, reaching a workforce of 151 employees, with 44.4% female representation and an employee engagement score of 8.5/10. The company also promoted training and development initiatives, including more than 110 hours of ESG training for Directors and Managers.
Its commitment to the community was reflected in an investment of more than €15,000 in social impact initiatives, complemented by nine corporate volunteering activities and over 178 volunteering hours dedicated to education, inclusion, and support for vulnerable communities.
At the governance level, Norfin reinforced the integration of ESG criteria into investment due diligence processes, incorporated ESG risks into its corporate risk matrix, and began including sustainability indicators within its remuneration policy.
The report was developed in collaboration with Cushman & Wakefield’s Sustainability and ESG team, currently comprising more than 12 professionals in Portugal, further reinforcing the consultancy’s expertise in delivering ESG services to both national and international clients.
The Norfin Group is currently one of Portugal’s leading real estate investment management companies, with approximately €2.7 billion in assets under direct management, having strengthened its market presence through the integration of strategic assets such as Tróia and Monte Rei Golf & Country Club.
