New Shiseido Office: Japanese Inspiration and Innovation

Shiseido, the prestigious beauty products company that celebrated its 150th anniversary last year, made the bold decision to relocate its headquarters with a clear goal in mind: to achieve a 10% market share by 2030. This ambitious plan required, among other things, finding a larger office space that was better suited to its vision.

For this exciting challenge, it entrusted Cushman & Wakefield to lead the process of finding and developing this new space.

Cushman & Wakefield put together a multidisciplinary team of experts to advise on the search for a new location and subsequently manage the entire process. The main areas involved in this process were the Office Agency and Project & Development Services. Our proposal succeeded in internalizing and embodying Shiseido's values and culture, capturing its essence and highlighting its commitment to “People first” and its firm focus on sustainability and innovation, all under a marked “Japanese aesthetic.” We called this project Zikkei.

The decision to move from Madrid's Paseo de la Castellana to the Cerro de los Gamos Business Park in Pozuelo de Alarcón proved to be a strategic move. Not only did it double the workspace, but it also maximized natural light, providing a total of 3,000 m² distributed over two floors and a generous 400 m² terrace that our team harmoniously integrated with the natural surroundings of Monte del Pilar.

In addition, during the design phase, we worked closely together to ensure the well-being of what is known as the “Shiseido family.” Throughout the process, they actively participated in decision-making, ensuring that the new offices reflected the Japanese philosophy of connection with nature. This was achieved by harmoniously integrating natural elements both indoors and on the terrace, blending in with Monte del Pilar. In addition, environmental awareness influenced the choice of sustainable materials and efficient facilities.

The result is a modern, innovative, collaborative, flexible, and welcoming workspace. A place where contact with nature becomes a daily and yet unique experience, where the most surprising events can take place, and where clients and suppliers can be proudly received. But above all, it is a space where the Shiseido family can grow with the certainty of enjoying a comfortable, healthy, sustainable, and happy environment for a long time.
